                                    Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Why use horses?

A:  Like humans, horses have distinct personalities, attitudes and moods. Parallel to human experience, an approach that works with a specific horse might not prove to be effective with a different horse or under different circumstances.  Because of this, horses provide vast opportunities for participants to find solutions to life's challenges.
Because horses are large and powerful, interacting alongside them  creates confidence and provides wonderful insight when dealing with other intimidating life situations.
Horses are prey animals, which means they are highly attuned to their environment.  They are able to pick up on non- verbal cues and respond to them in the moment.  This provides participants with immediate feedback about what they are presenting to others via body language, eye contact, and even heart rate.

Q:  Do clients ride the horses?

A:  No. All sessions take place on the ground.

Q:  Do I need to have experience around horses?

A:  No, in fact most of our clients have never been around horses before.

Q:  What if I'm afraid of horses?

A:  We will ensure that you are within your comfort zone.  Participants can be involved in the activities as observers outside or inside the arena.  Many people discover that pushing past fear leads them to a greater sense of accomplishment, insight, and positive personal change.
